All gave some, and some gave all.
Today, I want to pause and give honor, respect, and appreciation to every man and woman who has served this country in uniform. Your sacrifice, your courage, and your commitment will never be forgotten.
I want to give a special thank you to the Vietnam War veterans — the men and women who served with courage, came home carrying memories most people will never understand, and too often did not receive the welcome, honor, or gratitude they deserved.
To every Vietnam veteran who was never properly welcomed home, I say this from my heart:
Welcome home.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for standing when your country called.
May we never forget that freedom is not free.
